GGT Submission-Only Invitational 3: The Middleweights

Match time is only counted for submission wins.

1st Place: Damian Gaston- 3/5 submissions, 8:42 min total match time

2nd Place: Jacob Straus - 2/5 submissions, 3:31 min total match time

3rd Place: Matt Yost - 1/5 submissions, 00:30 total match time

Ground Game Theory is thrilled to announce its third official NoGi Jiu Jitsu competition, featuring a 6-man, submission-only, 185 lb. intermediate (blue & purple) round robin bracket and several exciting superfights. This event is a continuation of the GGT Submission-Only Invitational tournament series, which aims to run several times per year. In the brackets, matches will run for six minutes, and everybody fights everybody. The person with the most submissions at the end wins.

In the case of a tie, the person with the least total match time for their matches won by submission wins.

This competition will take place at Wodapalooza in the heart of Downtown Miami. Wodapalooza is the world's premier Functional Fitness Festival and has become a calendar staple for the fitness community and Winter getaway for athletes from around the world. Wodapalooza takes place at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami and attracts 40,000+ athletes and fitness enthusiasts from around the world.

Competitors will have an opportunity to gain competition experience, exposure via professional media coverage, status as the reigning champion of a given weight class and inspire more local competitive activity.

Submission-only with all subs legal. If there's no submission, it's a draw.

NO SLAMMING ALLOWED!

Same day weigh-in.

Must weigh in at 185 lbs or below.

Must be a blue or purple belt.

Running out of bounds calls for an immediate halt in action and a reset at the center of the mat.

Championship belt and status as reigning champion of your weight class.

Free tournament entry when defending the belt.
