GGT Submission-Only Invitational 4 : The Absolutes

Match time is only counted for submission wins.

1st Place: Martin Arbelaez - 4/5 submissions, 14:36 min total match time

2nd Place: Steven Perez - 3/5 submissions, 4:38 min total match time

3rd Place: Chandler Proszek - 3/5 submissions, 13:05 total match time

Ground Game Theory is thrilled to announce its fourth official NoGi Jiu Jitsu competition, featuring a 6-man, submission-only, open weight round robin bracket and several exciting superfights. This event is a continuation of the GGT Submission-Only Invitational tournament series, which aims to run several times per year. In the brackets, matches will run for six minutes, and everybody fights everybody. The person with the most submissions at the end wins.

In the case of a tie, the person with the least total match time for their matches won by submission wins.

This competition will take place at the Miami International Fitness Expo at the Miami Airport Convention Center. Competitors will have an opportunity to gain competition experience, exposure via media coverage, status as the reigning champion of a given weight class and inspire more local competitive activity.

Matches are 6 minutes long.

Submission-only with all subs legal. If there's no submission, it's a draw.

NO SLAMMING ALLOWED!

No jumping guard or scissor takedowns.

Same day or day before weigh-in.

Any weight (for bracket)

Purple, brown or black belt level (for bracket)

Running out of bounds calls for an immediate halt in action and a reset at the center of the mat.

Championship belt and status as reigning champion of your weight class.

Free tournament entry when defending the belt.

Miami Airport Convention Center - 711 N.W. 72nd Avenue, Miami, FL 33126

Since the event is taking place in the Miami International Fitness Expo. Tickets are required for entry. Competitors and Coaches get free entry.

Day before weigh in: Competitors can weigh in on Friday 5/31 at Ground Game Theory between 5-8 PM.

Day of weigh in: Competitors will weigh in between 11:30-12:30 PM on the second floor of the Convention Center.

Check-in: This will also take place on the second floor where you weigh in the day of. Competitors will receive two bands, one for themselves and one for their coach.

Superfights will take place in between rounds of the bracket. There are 5 rounds total. Rules for the superfight are the same as the bracket, 6 minute sub or draw.

You are guaranteed at least one match or a full refund.

This event will be livestreamed on our instagram and YouTube as long as the connectivity in the Convention Center allows for it. All matches will be recorded regardless.
